Due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand, the situation has become very bad. On Tuesday, 11 more people died here. The most affected is the Kumaon region, where many houses were torn down and many people were buried under the rubble. The connectivity of Nainital has been cut off from the rest of the state. Even the three roads leading to it have been blocked due to landslides. At the same time, due to heavy rains, the railway line connecting Kathgodam railway station in Nainital district was washed away.

With this, the death toll in the state has gone up to 16. State Disaster Management Secretary SA Mururesan said that in the last 24 hours, the state has received more than 200 mm of rain. On Monday, 5 deaths were reported in Pauri and Champawat due to rain. Three laborers from Nepal were also involved in this. On Tuesday, 11 people lost their lives in Almora, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar.

CM did an aerial tour of the flood affected areas
State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that soon army helicopters will reach here to provide help and relief. Two of these helicopters will be sent to Nainital and one to Garhwal. CM urged people not to panic, all steps will be taken for their safety. He appealed to the Chardham Yatris to stay where they are and resume the yatra only after the weather cleared. On Tuesday afternoon, the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of the areas affected by heavy rains. Later he reached Rudraprayag and reviewed the damage assessment. He was accompanied by state minister Dhan Singh Rawat and state DGP Ashok Kumar.

Indian Youth Congress National President Srinivas tweeted a video in which security forces personnel are rescuing people in Nainital, Uttarakhand amid strong current of water. Soldiers rescued people from a shop by making a human chain.

Bridge cracked in Haldwani
The bridge over the Gaula river in Haldwani cracked due to rain. There was a pit in the middle of the bridge. People standing at one end of the bridge alerted the bike rider coming from the other end. Then the motorcyclist turned back.

In Nainital, Mall Road near Naini Lake and Nanda Devi Temple have been flooded, while a hostel building here has suffered extensive damage. At the same time, all the gates of Nanak Sagar Dam in Udham Singh Nagar were opened.

SDRF is carrying out the rescue mission
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is carrying out the rescue operation in the state. The team rescued more than 50 people last night by conducting operations at different places in the state. These include devotees returning from Kedarnath temple who were stuck on the way. SDRF along with Uttarakhand Police on Monday rescued 22 pilgrims returning from Kedarnath who were trapped in the forest. The team also rescued four laborers who were buried under the debris.

Crane car rescue
On Monday evening, a car stuck in the overflowing Lambagad drain near the highway was pulled out with the help of a crane. Passengers were also in the car.
