According to the Meteorological Department, the national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 15.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday, a notch below normal.
The national capital and surrounding areas received rain on Sunday as predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). According to IMD, light to moderate intensity rain is also expected in parts of Haryana and Rajasthan.
The IMD predicted light rain/drizzle at isolated places over south Delhi and NCR, and hailstorm in adjoining areas of Behror in Rajasthan.
“Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of Farukhnagar, Kosali, Mahendargarh, Rewari, Narnaul, Bawal (Haryana) Khairthal, Kotputli, Alwar, Rajgarh (Rajasthan),” IMD added.

The national capital received light rain on Saturday as well, bringing some respite from the scorching heat.
IMD alert for UP, Uttarakhand
The IMD also predicted thunderstorm/hailstorm in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh on Sunday. “Thunderstorm/hailstorm likely over West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and East Rajasthan on Monday,” the Meteorological Department said.

On Saturday, the IMD tweeted, “Rain with thunderstorm/hail over North India during 18th to 20th; On 18th and 19th in Central, West India and South Peninsula. Heavy rain is likely over Northeast India from March 19 to 22.”
Rain alert in parts of South India
The Meteorological Department has also predicted light to moderate rain in several districts of Tamil Nadu for 48 hours starting Saturday.
Several districts including Coimbatore, Kanniyakumari, Chengalpattu, Erode and Tiruvallur are likely to receive rain with thundershowers for the next two days. In the coming days, more rains are expected in the state till May, a senior RMC scientist said in a statement.
