Rain in Delhi: Rain accompanied by strong thunderstorms, hail fell at many places, traffic jams, flights affected

Many areas of the capital Delhi-NCR received rain on Monday with strong thunderstorms. While people got relief from the heat due to this, traffic was also disrupted due to uprooting of trees at places and falling on the roads. Hail also fell in many areas. Due to strong winds, the timing of many flights has been affected. The gusts of wind were so strong that the cars parked on the roads were shaking.

Due to rain and hailstorm in the capital, there was traffic jam at many places. It has also affected flights. Many passengers wait for the weather to improve at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The Meteorological Department had already estimated
The scorching heat was wreaking havoc in the city for the past few days. At the same time, now the people of the capital have got some relief from the heat. Heavy rain and thunderstorm conditions prevailed here since around 4 o’clock. The Meteorological Department had already predicted light rain and strong winds with a speed of 50 kmph.

eight flights diverted
According to the Delhi Airport Authority, eight flights have been diverted to Jaipur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Dehradun due to bad weather.
