Rain in Chennai: Depression forms off Tamil Nadu coast; Chance of rain in interior districts Chennai News – Times of India

Chennai: Heavy rain is expected at different places in Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri. VelloreTirupattur, Erode and Salem districts of Tamil Nadu depression crossed the coast over the Bay of Bengal Puducherry and Chennai on Fridays between 3 am and 4 pm.
A bulletin of the Meteorological Department said that the system was located 60 km south-southwest of Chennai and 60 km north-northeast of Puducherry. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and turn into a low pressure during the next 12 hours.
The presence of the depression will bring rain and strong wind for six hours.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for six hours off South Andhra, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast.
Rainfall in Chennai and neighboring districts: Till 7.30 am Rain conditions: Nungambakkam – 45 mm, Meenambakkam – 54, MRC Nagar – 44.5, Taramani – 32, Nandanam – 20 and Villivakkam – 44.
Other areas: Puducherry: 192 mm, Tiruvannamalai, 102 mm, Vellore – 58 mm, Cuddalore – 30 mm, Salem – 25 mm.
