Raima Sen: ‘Was my part in the audition, was thrown out of films a couple of times’

Raima Sen is one of the most bankable actors in the Bengali film industry. She’s also been a part of quite a few Bollywood movies, as well as series in both languages. He is now all set to make his Marathi debut with Anya. Now, in a recent interview, she has opened up about coming from the actors’ family and the kind of difficulties she faced due to it.

While talking to ETimes, Raima Sen revealed that a lot was expected of her even before entering the industry, only because of her family background. The actress said, ‘Initially when I entered the industry, people had high expectations from me. I was Munmun Sen’s daughter and my sister Riya was associated with the industry before me. Being a star kid, people already expected a lot from me, they had already judged me, criticized me. He hoped that I knew everything. I think it is very difficult for star kids in the beginning. For a newcomer who is an outsider, there is no baggage. But when a star kid is doing his first film, people will judge him.

He said, “Initially it was tough for me. My grandmother Suchitra Sen has left a great legacy behind her. I was not going to get Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut. In the beginning, it was difficult to break through. I think ‘Bran’ ‘Bali’ was my turning point. Once I did that film, people started seeing me as Raima and not as Munmun Sen’s daughter or Riya’s sister. I have successfully carved my niche here. I did godmother And it was not a perfect launch to say so. I gave my share of screen tests and auditions. I have been thrown out of films several times. I have faced my share of struggles and difficulties. Now that I look back on them, So I think all of them were a blessing because I got to learn a lot from them. I appreciate the things that happened to me in my career because it made me stronger. I have never had any formal training as an actor. But practical experiences have taught me a lot.I have worked under some talented directors in my career. It’s worked.”

Well, star kid or not, it seems that every person has to go through their own set of struggles to see themselves in their career. Raima Sen will now be seen in Marathi film Anya, which will mark her debut in the Marathi film industry.
