Villagers and farmers were protesting at Khedar Power Plant for about three months. The demand of the villagers was that the ashes of the plant should be given to them free of cost as before. Whereas the plant officials were expressing their inability7 because the power ministry has passed a proposal to sell the ash through tender. This ash is used for making bricks. The plant has ash worth about 67 crores. At the same time, the villagers argued that when no one used to take the ashes earlier, the villagers used it. With this, the income of Khedar Gaushala will stop and the Gaushala which is nurturing about 1000 cows will be closed. Therefore, the villagers were demanding as before to give the ashes free of cost.
