Rahul Gandhi attacks Centre again, says ‘demonetisation, GST weapons to destroy small and medium businesses’

Panipat: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday targeted the BJP-led government at the Center on several issues including Agniveer Yojana, unemployment and GST.
Speaking at a public meeting in Panipat, Haryana during his Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said that “Earlier a soldier used to serve the country for 15 years and was given proper training and retirement benefits but now after 5 years he is unemployed. Will be done.” Gandhi said, “First explain to me what is the Agneepath scheme. BJP people say they are patriots, explain their patriotism to me.” The Congress MP also launched a scathing attack on the Modi government regarding demonetisation and GST. He said, “Demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST) were not policies, but weapons to destroy small and medium businesses.

Bharat Jodo Yatra reached Haryana from Uttar Pradesh on Thursday evening. The foot march has covered a distance of 3,000 kilometers so far. The yatra will go up to Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and end in Jammu and Kashmir.

The former Congress president also targeted the BJP-led Haryana government over the high unemployment rate in the state. He said that due to lack of employment for the youth, Haryana has become a champion in unemployment.

Gandhi said that there are two Indias – one of farmers, laborers, small shopkeepers and unemployed youth and the other of 200-300 people who have the wealth of the country.
