R Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ picks up pace at the box office, garners 9.3 IMDb rating

Bollywood actor R Madhavan’s film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is slowly and steadily gaining momentum at the box office. Released on July 1, 2022, the film is getting a positive response across the country. According to reports, the current IMDb rating of the film is 9.3.

Madhavan, who made his directorial debut with this film, shared this information on Twitter. He shared a tweet from UNI, which said that the film has 9.2 IMDb, which is likely to increase further.

Also playing the lead role in the film, Madhavan plays the role of Nambi Narayanan, the former head of cryogenics of ISRO. In 1994, Narayanan was falsely accused of espionage, after which he was arrested. Four years later, the Supreme Court dismissed all charges against him.

Though the film made a slow start at the box office, it picked up pace later. According to BoxOfficeIndia.com. “Rocketry (Hindi) doubled on Saturday from a very low starting point on Friday. The film caught on with Rashtra Kavach Om on Saturday and has a two-day collection of around Rs 2 crore.”

According to the report, the makers of the film expect the film to pick up pace like ‘The Kashmir Files’, which earned Rs 300 crore after an initial slow start. The film has been released in many languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Talking about the film, Madhavan told indianexpress.com, “My films have always been pan-India. I feel like the rest of the world is catching on to me, I set the trend many years ago. Ramji Londonwale or 13B, which was one of the first films to be shot simultaneously, Rocketry has the distinction of being shot in three languages, forget about two. So, people don’t give me credit, but I am a trend setter at times.
