The Kashmir Files is a dream run at the box office. The film is already on its way to enter the Rs 100 crore club and is breaking post-pandemic records like any other Hindi film. While most Bollywood stars are yet to react to the film, R Madhavan on Thursday admitted that he was impressed and ‘very jealous’ that the film is doing impressive work at the box office.
He reposted a tweet showing the box office collections of The Kashmir Files and shared his thoughts. He wrote, “This is unbelievable and phenomenal.. Very jealous (laughing emoji) as well as so much pride and joy for the team #TheKashmirFiles.”
Last week, Madhavan shared the trailer of the film and wished the team of The Kashmir Files all the best. “Hearing so many great and great reviews of this film from the public. Can’t wait to see it, I am sure @vivekagnihotri has come up with another compelling and tough job.. Congratulations team,” he tweeted.
On Thursday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed that the film has collected Rs 19.05 crore on Wednesday, which is one crore more than Tuesday’s collection. “#TheKashmirFiles continues to wreak havoc… Breaks myths & #BO breaks records… Figures by day are eye-opening, case study… Venus 3.55 cr, Shani 8.50 cr, Surya 15.10 cr, Monday 15.05 cr, Mars 18 cr, Wed 19.05 cr. Taran also revealed that Tuesday’s box office collection has set a new record. Meanwhile, while talking to News18, Vivek Agnihotri addressed Bollywood’s silence regarding the film. The filmmaker said, “Why is the commentary of these elites on the film important? India has changed! All these old establishments are slowly collapsing. Kashmir Files is a true account. The film is about real people and their tragedies.” It’s not about Bollywood. When I go to theatres, my heart breaks and women my mother’s age cry and touch my feet. People are connecting to the film on a different level and that matters more “
