The Russian Embassy said in a statement – 2+2 talks are going to be very important. During this, talks will be held on regional and international issues. It is believed that there can be an agreement between the two countries on important issues like Indian Ocean, Afghanistan and Syria. Important talks can also take place about Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and Russia-India-China (RIC). There is agreement and cooperation between India and Russia on most issues, but in the case of China, both the countries need more dialogue.

Russia’s prominence
As far as 2+2 talks are concerned, it was India who started this tradition with particular allies. Apart from Russia, India has 2+2 talks with only three countries. These are America, Japan and Australia.

In the talks between Modi and Putin, important agreements on defense and trade can also be reached. Apart from this, both the leaders can also talk on investment and science and technology. Last year 2+2 summit was not held. It was canceled due to Kovid. This summit takes place alternately in both the countries.
