Lahore: The Punjab government has transferred several district police officers (DPOs), including the chief of the Vehari district police, who were replaced by an officer allegedly belonging to the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). “Recommended” by MPs. ) did.

An official with knowledge of the information said that some PML-N MNAs and MPAs had met Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz to appoint Rana Shahid as the new DPO of Vehari.
He said that the ruling PML-N in Punjab is under pressure to appoint the favorite officers of its MPs.
Similarly, Okara’s DPO Umar Saeed Malik has also been transferred prematurely and has been directed to report to the CPO till further orders. He was deputed to Okara barely a week ago. However, it is said that Umar Saeed himself requested the CPO for his transfer from Okara as he had already worked there as a DPO for a period of one year.
In the coming days, there are reports of transfers of more DPOs especially the DPOs appointed by the previous PTI government. These include the DPOs of Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur and Khanewal.
According to the notification, Additional SP Civil Lines Gujranwala Asaddur Rehman has been transferred and Chiniot DPO Vice Retired Captain Amir Khan Niazi has been transferred as Jhelum DPO Kamran Mumtaz.
Kamran Mumtaz has been transferred and directed to report to the CPO for further orders. Hafizabad DPO Bilal Zafar Sheikh has been transferred to Sargodha DPO, while Mohammad Rizwan Ahmed Khan has been directed to report to the CPO till further orders.
Punjab Counter Terrorism Department SSP Operation Asad Sarfaraz Khan has been transferred Narowal DPO Vice Rizwan Umar Gondal to Mianwali DPO Vice Ismailur Rehman who has been directed to report to the CPO for further orders.
AIG Operations Punjab Zeeshan Raza has been transferred and posted as Sialkot DPO, while CPO Rana Shoaib Mehmood in AIG Logistics has been transferred as the new Toba Tek Singh DPO against the existing vacancy.
