Punjab Govt Changes Office Timings To Save Power

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday announced new office timings for all government offices in the state ahead of the summer season. As per the new timings, all state government offices will open from 7.30 am to 2 pm. The new timing will be effective from May 2 to July 15 during the summer season. According to CM Mann, the new office timings help in saving electricity in the states and give some respite from the heat to the commuters of the government offices.

Bhagwant Mann in his address said, “Our government runs on new ideas, new thinking and new blood. Keeping this in mind, we have decided to change the working hours of the government from 7:30 am to 2 pm. It will be implemented.” May 2 to July 15″.

“The public is happy. We see that in summer, it is hot in the afternoon and the public has to face a lot of trouble outside. So this new time will give them relief. You don’t have to quit your job.” Our government officials will also be free in the afternoon and will be able to spend time with their families.

“Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) will be a major beneficiary of this decision. The power consumption increases in the months of May and June and PSPCL faces peak hours after 2 p.m. when the offices are closed. So this will save electricity in Punjab. We have come to this decision after consultation with our stakeholders. This decision will not be implemented in government and private schools in the state.”

He further said that this is a unique decision and it is expected that other state governments will also implement this decision. “We have seen some foreign countries implementing this. There is a concept to make better use of daylight. We are the first state in our country to do this. I hope others will follow. Daylight Better use should be encouraged.” country,” he said.
