Punjab Elections: AAP Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will contest from Dhuri

Polling for 117 assembly seats in Punjab is to be held on February 20.

Mann was declared the AAP’s chief ministerial face on January 18 by party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal.

Aam Aadmi Party’s chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann will contest from Dhuri assembly seat in Sangrur district for next month’s assembly elections in Punjab. The announcement in this regard was made by senior party leader Raghav Chadha in Mohali on Thursday.

Mann was declared the AAP’s chief ministerial face on January 18 by party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal. The announcement was made after the results of the party’s ‘Janata Chungi Apna CM’ campaign were declared. Forty-eight-year-old Mann, comedian turned politician, is a two-time Lok Sabha MP from Sangrur parliamentary constituency.

Dhuri assembly seat is currently represented by Congress MLA Dalveer Singh Goldy. Dhuri is a part of the Sangrur parliamentary constituency.

Polling for 117 assembly seats in Punjab is to be held on February 20. Counting of votes will take place on March 10.
