Punjab Elections: 85 candidates filed nominations from Ludhiana district. Ludhiana News – Times of India

Ludhiana: A total of 85 people filed nomination papers for the assembly elections in Punjab on Monday from 14 different constituencies in Ludhiana district.
Sukhmit Singh from Punjab Kisan Dal, Gurpreet Singh and Kirandeep Kaur from BJP, Tarunpreet Singh Sond & Lachhman Singh from Aam Aadmi Party, Paramjeet Singh from Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), Jasdeep Kaur and Jaspreet Kaur from Shiromani Akali Dal, Karnail Singh from Revolutionary Socialist Party filed their nomination papers from 57-Khanna constituency, said District election officer-cum-deputy commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma.
Dr Sohan Lal Blaggan from Samajwadi Party, Varinder Singh Sekhon from SAD (Amritsar), Sandeep Singh as Independent, Major Singh as Independent, Jagtar Singh and Pinderjeet Kaur from AAPRupinder Singh Raja Gill and Harjeet Kaur Gill from Indian National Congress, Labh Singh as Independent from 58-Samrala.

The DEO-cum-DC said that as per the prescribed norms laid down by the Election Commission of India (ECI), only three persons, including a candidate, will be allowed to enter the room of the Returning Officer (RO) where the nomination for the election will take place. To be filed by them between 11 AM to 3 PM by February 1, 2022.
He said that the candidates would not be allowed to carry mobiles inside the RO’s room.
He said that proper videography of the enrollment process would be ensured, as well as public address system, digital clock and other arrangements would be made completely inside the RO’s room to ensure complete transparency.
Sharma asked them to clearly demarcate the perimeter of 100 meters by displaying boards, cameras, parking area, barricading, RO’s room along with the instructions of ECI.
He said that elaborate arrangements would also be made to conduct the nomination process in a smooth, free and fair manner. He said that the nominations for the elections would be received by the concerned Returning Officers at their designated offices from 11 am to 3 pm.
