Chandigarh: Former Deputy CM of Punjab and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Badal Targeting Congress Party and the newly appointed Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Sunday.
“Channi is a rubber stamp and cannot take any decision on his own level but in Delhi three groups are running the government in Punjab. Congress is now on self-destruct mode and will be wiped out from the state soon”, Sukhbir said. He was in Chandigarh on Sunday to attend various events and interacted with media persons.
Badal said, “When the CM cannot decide his cabinet and is looking at the high command in Delhi, what will he do for the people of Punjab? Seeing the new CM under the supervision of PCC President Navjot Sidhu as well as Deputy CM is painful. Sukhjinder Randhawa. All the decisions – whether it is the selection of the cabinet or the selection of the chief secretary, the state police chief and the advocate general are being taken by others. Badal said Channi should be thankful to the Akali Dal as the SAD first announced the appointment of a Dalit as the deputy CM and the Congress chose him for the CM’s post.
Taking a dig at the inclusion of ministers in the new cabinet, he said, “On the first day CM Channi had said that sand mafia should stay away from him and now he has taken it. Rana Gurjit Singh Joe in the cabinet was dropped because of allegations against him for being associated with the sand mafia. Then Amarinder Singh Raja Waring, who was involved in the suicide of three children in Faridkot, has also been given a place in the cabinet.
He said that former CM Captain Amarinder Singh wasted 4.5 years without any development work and now even in three months, Congress has nothing but looting public money.
Badal said all decisions taken in the last three months after the SAD-BSP came to power would be reviewed and a special inquiry cell would be set up to question these cabinet ministers and those found involved would be punished. . He said that SAD is a regional party of Punjab and only a regional party knows the pain of the people whereas those sitting in Delhi can never understand it.
“The city, which earlier saw rapid growth during the SAD-led government, has gone through a complete recession during the Congress rule and all infrastructure works have come to a halt. We promise to take to Ludhiana. which is truly the heart of the state. Take it to the next level by developing it as a hub of industry as well as a truly hi-tech city”, said the former deputy CM of Punjab.
