Punjab: BSF kills two Pakistani infiltrators in Ferozepur

Firozpur: On July 30, two Pakistani infiltrators were killed by the Border Security Force on the International Border in Firozpur, Punjab. Border Security Force Punjab Frontier said in a statement that the infiltrators were shot at 8:48 pm on Friday night.

BSF personnel noticed suspicious movement near the border fence just before firing.

BSF statement quoted ANI as saying, “On July 30, 2021, at around 2048 hrs, BSF personnel posted at AOR of BOP, Thehkelan (Amarkot), Firozpur attacked a border post between suspected infiltrators in Indian territory. saw the activity.”

Initially, the soldiers challenged the intruders and asked them to stop. But they did not pay heed despite repeated warnings and both the intruders kept on moving towards the Indian side in an attempt to cross the border fence.

Thereafter, shots were fired at them and both the Pakistani infiltrators were gunned down.

A detailed investigation is underway to shed more light on the matter.

Meanwhile, in Rajouri, the border district of Jammu and Kashmir, a possible tragedy was averted due to timely detection of an IED planted by suspected terrorists under a culvert at Bathuni-Dilogra on the Jammu-Rajouri National Highway. After this, the bomb disposal squad of the army defused it at 9.10 am, officials said on Saturday.

Besides this, in another security-related development, an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, police said.

Two unidentified terrorists were gunned down in Dachigam forest area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Saturday. Army and police are on the job and search operation is on.
