Puneeth Rajkumar rests with full state honors at Sree Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru

New Delhi: Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on October 29, 2021 due to a heart attack. The actor was rushed to the hospital after he complained of severe chest pain during a workout. There he died without giving any answer to the treatment.

Being a power star, Puneeth Rajkumar’s funeral was organized by the Karnataka government where fans gathered in large numbers to pay their last respects to ‘Appu’. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai also paid his last farewell to the popular actor.

According to a report in ANI, the last rites of Puneeth Rajkumar were performed with state honors at Sri Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru today.

An ANI report said, “Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai pays last respects to actor Puneeth Rajkumar at Sri Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru. The last rites of the actor will be performed in the same studio today.”

Another ANI report said, “Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar being given a state honor at Sri Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru in the presence of CM Basavaraj Bommai and others.”

Reportedly, fans gathered on the rooftops of buildings around Sree Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru to catch the last glimpse of ‘Appu’. As per an ANI report, “People gather on the roofs of buildings around Sri Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru and climb trees around it to catch a glimpse of late Kannada actor #PuneethRajkumar. His last rites will be performed in the studio today.”

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai also told ANI, “It was a personal bond with the whole family and also with ‘Appu’. I saw him as a boy. We had a relationship from those days. So I would give him the last. Saluting. Of course, I was emotional.” He continued, “It is a personal loss for me. We have lost a huge talent.”

On the work front, Puneet Rajkumar was last seen in ‘Yuvratna’, which released in April 2021. He is survived by his wife and two children.
