“When I came out of Kalyaninagar at 7.30 pm and took Central Avenue, the road was flooded. I took some lanes which were also flooded and vehicles could hardly move. The water was almost touching the knees at Shastrinagar Chowk. I saw a woman falling from her scooty. Luckily a passerby came to rescue her. Reaching home was a tough test,” said Pardeshi, a store executive by profession.
The rains caught the shopkeepers of Navratri oblivious, leaving many people who came out in the evening drenched. The city received heavy rain for about half an hour to 45 minutes, Shivajinagar received 49.2 mm of rain in a short span of time.
