Pune-Bound Air Asia Flight Suffers Bird Strike, Makes Emergency Landing in Bhubaneswar

A Pune-bound Air Asia flight had to make an emergency landing at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar on Thursday due to a bird hit, according to the airport authority. A bird hit the plane soon after take off from the airport. However, all passengers were safe after the emergency landing and the damage caused to the aircraft following the incident is being assessed by the airline.

The air authority said in a statement that “a Pune-bound Air Asia flight made an emergency landing at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport following a bird hit incident shortly after take-off. The aircraft is being assessed, And all passengers are. Safe.” Reacting to the incident, Air Asia said the aircraft has returned to Bhubaneswar for a detailed inspection after the bird hit.

Air Asia spokesperson said, “VT-ATF operating from Bhubaneshwar to Pune suffered a bird hit after take off and returned to Bhubaneshwar for detailed inspection. We are taking care of the guests and other scheduled operations are affected.” taking steps to reduce it.”
