In a shocking incident of road rage, a woman who was riding a scooter in Maharashtra’s Pune with her two kids was physically assaulted by a man and left bleeding on the road.

After the incident, the woman, who has been identified as Jerlyn D Silva, recorded a video in which she alleged that he kept speeding up the vehicle in an attempt to overtake them while she was trying to steer clear of his way.

“This man kept speeding behind for almost 2 km and I was riding on the left to give him the when he suddenly took me to the left side of the road, got out of his car furiously and punched me hard enough that I immediately started bleeding,” the woman can be heard saying in the now-viral video.

The woman also demanded justice and called for a strict punishment for the accused adding that the law and order situation in the city has been deteriorating lately. “I don’t know where we are going,” she says.

When contacted, an official of the Chaturshringi Police Station said that the victim had been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment while the motorist was detained pending the formal complaint formalities, news agency IANS reported.

The incident sparked a furore on social media, coming exactly two months after a 17-year-old minor boy was involved in an alleged drunken hit-and-run accident in his Porsche car which left two persons dead.
