Sanjay Raut’s remarks came after Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde along with his deputy Devendra Fadnavis visited Ayodhya on Sunday.

Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday lashed out at Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputy Devendra Fadnavis’ visit to Ayodhya. Raut termed the Shinde-Fadnavis duo as ‘duplicates’ for their visit to the holy city, alleging that they were ignoring farmers who were troubled by rain and hailstorm in the state.

Speaking to ANI, the Shiv Sena leader said, “They are ignoring all the issues in the state and going to Ayodhya… Will Lord Ram bless them?”

This comment of Sanjay Raut came during the visit of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to Ayodhya on Sunday. Notably, about 3,000 Shiv Sainiks, including Maharashtra government ministers, party MPs and MLAs, accompanied Shinde on his first visit to Ayodhya as chief minister.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warmly welcomed the Maharashtra Chief Minister and his entourage.

Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis offered prayers at the Ramlala temple.

Reacting to Eknath Shinde’s visit to Ayodhya, Sanjay Raut said, “We too believe in Lord Ram. We have also gone to Ayodhya many times. But BJP never came with our party. When the Babri incident took place, they ran away… Farmers in Maharashtra are troubled by rain and hailstorm, but ignoring all these issues, the state government went to Ayodhya.

“Will Lord Rama bless them? … They are copying us. The public knows who is the original and who is a duplicate.” Year Quoting Raut.

At the same time, Eknath Shinde refused to call it a ‘political tour’. “This is not a political visit. I keep visiting Ayodhya but I have come here for the first time as a chief minister. All our party leaders wanted to seek the blessings of Lord Ram. I would like to thank Yogi ji and his ministers who came here to welcome us.”

Notably, a Mahant of Ayodhya extended a personal invitation to Eknath Shinde to visit the Lord Ram temple following the Maharashtra government’s move to send the first consignment of prized teak wood from Chandrapur district for the temple’s construction.
