Protest outside CM Amarinder’s residence, AAP workers dispersed using water cannons

Police used water cannons to disperse Aam Aadmi Party workers who were protesting near Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh’s ‘Siswan Farm House’ on Saturday in view of the power crisis in the state.

This picket was being held under the leadership of state unit president Bhagwant Mann. AAP MLA and youth wing state president Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare said on Thursday that people in Punjab are suffering due to long and undeclared power cuts, but the chief minister is leaving the people and enjoying at his royal farmhouse.

Haier alleged that the high cost and power shortage were mainly due to the wrong power purchase agreements made with private thermal plants by the previous Badal government and non-cancellation of agreements by the present Congress government.
