Protesters in many countries including the US, UK, Australia, Canada and Brazil have protested outside Indian embassies.

Organizations and groups working for tribal rights and the environment around the world have supported the movement of the tribals of Surguja. For this, organizations from all over the world demonstrated in small groups. Protesters gathered near the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial in Washington DC in the US, the famous India House in London, near the Sydney Opera House in Australia, the Indian embassies of Canada and Brazil. The protesters were carrying placards with slogans in their hands. Slogans like Save Hasdev, Adivasi Lives Matter, Support Adivasi Rights, Don’t Mine Adivasi Rights and No Cole were written in it.

The protesters also raised slogans demanding to stop mining in Hasdeo Aranya. People of many villages affected by Parsa Kayla mine are sitting on dharna in Fatehpur village for more than last two months. They say that they will not leave their village and forest. Demonstrations are also being held in various cities of Chhattisgarh for the last few days in his support. Voice is being raised on social media. At the same time, the legal battle is being fought in the courts.

Government should declare Hasdev as a protected area
Chhattisgarh Bachao Andolan Convenor Mandal member Alok Shukla says that the voice of saving Hasdev has also been raised at the international level. There have been demonstrations for this in 8 countries around the world. The demand is being raised from there that the tribal areas and rich forest areas should not be destroyed. The Government of India and the Government of Chhattisgarh should back down from the decision of coal mining there and cancel the mining projects and declare it as a protected area.
