Why is the encroachment being removed?
After the formation of the new government in the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had directed to remove the illegal occupation from here. The government says that this land will be used for agricultural projects. At the same time, local media says that 120 bighas of land of the village was evacuated, which was attached to the ancient Shiva temple. Mostly Muslims of East Bengal origin live in this village.

Congress said- CM is flouting the directions of the High Court
