Prophet remark controversy: Country faced embarrassment because of BJP: Uddhav Thackeray

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said the country faced international embarrassment due to remarks made by now suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma against Prophet Mohammad during a prime time TV debate.

Addressing a massive rally in Aurangabad on Wednesday evening, the Maharashtra CM said, “A BJP spokesperson insulted the Prophet. Like our God should not be insulted, why are you insulting their God? That’s it. After the humiliation, we had to kneel before them. In Middle East countries. Prime Minister’s picture was thrown on the dustbin. We are facing this insult. Why should the country apologize when BJP is responsible for this incident? “

on water shortage

Addressing the issue of severe water crisis in the city, Thackeray said, “Today I am going to solve the drinking water problem in Aurangabad. Instead of shying away from the parallel water pipeline, I decided that I was going to face the public and see that the problem of drinking water is resolved at the earliest.”

The Maharashtra CM also said that he has reduced the water tax of this city by 50 percent, which will be implemented in the coming days.

Thackeray further said, ‘It is not our Hindutva to tell lies, Balasaheb Thackeray has not taught us this. A few days ago, the BJP had taken out a Jal Aakrosh Morcha in this city. I want to tell you that BJP is restless that it is out of power in the state, so the protest rally was organized by BJP.

Maharashtra CM said, ‘Hindutva is in our every breath. This is what Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray has told us.”
