“When you’re playing everyone and just want to give one match and check, it’s probably the last chance, they might not be on the next tour.”

India is rotating players thanks to the abundance of talent available. But the former cricketer has time and again blamed the formula for mediocre white-ball results. According to him, the management should have a core of 15 players and back them all the time till the World Cup.

The rotation policy has seen captains like Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul leading the team in the last 12 months.

With the series already over, the management is expected to rope in youngsters. A win here would also mean that the team has momentum ahead of the two-match Test series.
