Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra held a one-on-one meeting with her party leaders and workers at the UPCC headquarters here on Wednesday in her attempt to chalk out a strategy for the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. UP Congress media convener Lalan Kumar said Gandhi, currently on a five-day visit to the state capital, held a one-on-one meeting and discussed election strategy with party leaders and office bearers.

On the third day of his visit, he also met doctors and health workers and thanked them for their services during the corona pandemic. Gandhi said that doctors and health workers served people round the clock during the Corona crisis.

Several young doctors were also associated with the UP Congress’s helpline ‘Hello Doctor’, Lalan Kumar said, discussing many health issues of the people. Kumar said the Congress leader also appealed to the young doctors to give their suggestions on issues related to health services in the state.

She said later in the day she would hold a meeting with party secretaries and other leaders at the Kaul House where she is staying. This is Priyanka Gandhi’s second visit to Uttar Pradesh this month, the first from September 8 to September 13.

The Congress had fought the 2017 state assembly elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party, but managed to win just seven out of the 114 seats it contested with a vote share of 6.25 per cent. This time the Congress party has decided not to enter into an electoral alliance with any major party.
