Priyanka Chopra couldn’t stop teasing Mumbai’s paparazzi as she walked the red carpet of the NMACC Fashion Gala with Nick Jonas. On Saturday night, Priyanka stepped out wearing a saree in a never-seen-before contemporary style. She chose an Amit Agarwal custom ensemble, which was crafted by pairing a 60-year-old vintage Banarasi brocade saree, made with silver threads and a gold electroplating on khadi silk, which was adorned with unique craft-made jewel toned Wrapped and structured with a molded body. material and paired with a signature sequin sheet holographic bustier.
The ensemble was created over six months, with vintage fabrics hand-woven in the craft clusters of Varanasi. The Jonas Brothers singer, on the other hand, opted for a formal tuxedo for the night. While posing with Nick, Priyanka was furious when she heard the paparazzi calling Nick ‘jiju’. Soon after, the actress posed alone and cameramen doubled up as her cheerleaders. Nick Jonas wasn’t the only international star at the gala. Media also spotted Tom Holland and Zendaya, who were here to attend the special ceremony. The cameras also spotted Spanish actress Penelope Cruz.
Priyanka and Nick attended the launch of the center on Friday night. Speaking at the event along with Anusha Dandekar, Priyanka lauded Nita Ambani’s efforts to build the cultural centre. “I think Neeta ma’am has done a lot for the culture in India. I think the Ambani family really has their pulse on Indian culture and the pride of being from the country and you know especially for global Indians as well, I think it’s going to be really special.”
She also urged Nick Jonas to persuade the Jonas Brothers to come to Mumbai and perform at NMACC. The singer called it a good idea and said he would look into it. The NMACC, which is located inside the Jio Global Center in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, is designed to preserve and promote Indian arts.
