Pritam, Shaan pay emotional tribute to singer KK: ‘They don’t make men like themselves anymore’

In a sad news for music lovers on Tuesday night, singer Krishnakumar Kunath, popularly known as KK, lent his voice to thousands of songs. Entertainment The industry died. The 53-year-old singer collapsed in the hotel where he was staying after the concert. He was taken to CMRI Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. His demise left the entire nation in shock and grief and condolences poured in from the audience and celebrities alike for his family. The news of his passing caused a wave of mourning in the industry, with many of his fans mourning the death of the singer.

KK’s music was unmatched. Some of his songs from Emraan Hashmi and Sonal Chauhan’s film Jannat became huge hits. Zara Saa Ya Ya Tu Hai, KK’s melodious voice was probably one of the major contributors to the success of the film.
His colleagues from the industry Pritam and Shaan paid heartfelt tributes to the late singer.

Shaan took to social media and remembered KK’s memories by sharing a collage of priceless pictures with the late singer. Along with the collage he dedicated a long note.
Shaan wrote, ‘I just pretend you’re here.. we never spoke regularly.. I’ve said ‘I want to be like KK’ as material, when it comes to his personal space. When it comes, it is straightforward and does not compromise. If his priority was totally.. but I realize.. there can be no one like @kk_live_now!! He will always be ‘The One and Only’..’

He continued, “.. I can’t even imagine what Jyo, Nakul and Tamara are going through.. All I can say is that they gave them 20 lifetime warm memories more than any average family man. Deen. We started together.. We did many superduper hit songs together.. #Koike #Time to Disco #Dusbahan #HumdamSuniyore #Zameen (Title Track) #Golmaal .. #DeTaali songs.. The list is endless.. We did most number of shows together .. early 2000s tour with @anumalikmusic ji .. .. #No1Yaari tour through West Bengal, Orissa, Assam .. our back to back in 3 years in Dubai 3 shows. I am blessed to have known this ‘boy’ (who refused to grow up.. and will be young forever now).”

Along with KK fans, Salim Merchant also reacted to the post with two broken heart emoticons.

In his recent interview with The Indian Express, Pritam recalled his bond with KK and how he connected with his soulful voice.

The musician shared that the two have known each other since the days when they were “finding our feet in Mumbai.” “I moved to the city in 1998, after completing my sound engineering course at FTII Pune. KK had settled here a year ago. We both started with ad jingles and scored for corporate films – I used to compose and he used to sing.”

Pritam said, ‘He was my elder brother and life coach. For all his late working hours, late sleeping and erratic food habits, I have never seen a more disciplined and health-oriented person than this. I am a man of the last moment, he was the settled boy. He will do yoga, not smoke or drink, eat right, sleep and wake up on time, get medical check-up on time. In fact, he would pull me up for not listening and ignoring my body. ,

“They don’t make men like her anymore. It’s true that KK never got her due within the music industry, which are the defining criteria of success. But she’s loved by music lovers around the world. Cosmetically. Not in me but in a spiritual kind, where a little bit of his heart resides in each of us,” he said.
