A farmer from Chandauli in Uttar Pradesh filed his nomination for the Presidential election in Delhi on Monday. After making his nomination, farmer Vinod Kumar Yadav said that he filed the nomination after receiving “orders” from God.

Yadav said he lives next to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s village and has spoken to MPs from 10 states, who have agreed to support him. He said that he is confident of winning the presidential election on the support of these MPs and MLAs. Yadav said that he would tell his village to everyone after winning the election.

Yadav hails from Kalani village in Illiya area of ​​Chandauli district. Yadav mentioned that he is the son of a farmer and has studied till 10th standard. Yadav started contesting elections from 2005-06. So far, he has contested for all the posts of BDC, village head, district panchayat member, assembly and Lok Sabha. However, till now he has not got any election.

He said: “Talks are on with MPs from all states including UP, Bihar, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka to contest elections. Everyone has assured that they will cooperate. Will do. We have.”

United Opposition’s presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha filed his nomination papers on Monday. Sinha handed over four sets of nomination papers to Rajya Sabha Secretary General PC Modi, who is the returning officer for the presidential election.

Sinha (84) was joined by top opposition leaders like NCP’s Sharad Pawar, Congress’s Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Jairam Ramesh. Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, DMK’s A Raja and NC leader Farooq Abdullah were also present at the time of submitting Sinha’s nomination papers. No Shiv Sena leader was present on this occasion. However, the party has announced that it will support Sinha.

Sinha, who was part of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA cabinet, was nominated as the general opposition candidate for the presidential election on June 21. He had quit BJP and joined Trinamool Congress in 2021. Sinha left TMC after some time. A few days before the opposition parties fielded him for the presidential election.
