Jayalakshmi, who nurtured many dreams about reform, continued publishing the newspaper without interruption even after the sudden demise of her husband on Wednesday, June 30. It may be recalled that the Sudharha newspaper is celebrating its centenary this year.
“I dedicate this award to my father-in-law, husband and Sampoorna Sudharma Pariwar. It’s everyone’s dream,” she said.
“My dream is to expand our footprint across the world apart from turning the newspaper into a four-page newspaper. Sanskrit readers are everywhere. We want to reach them all,” he said.
“The award ceremony was full of emotion. All the dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman spoke with me. They remembered the newspaper’s legacy apart from assuring all necessary help. The moment was very emotional,” she explained.
