Prayagraj, Kanpur topped with 99.22% pass percentage. Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: The year which saw the second wave of COVID-19, after which the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) decided to promote Class XII students, girls The regional office of CBSE on Friday once again outshone the figures for five major districts of the state.
CBSE’s Prayagraj region comprises more than 50 districts of the state and in all districts, girls have outperformed boys. Out of the five major districts, Prayagraj and Kanpur secured an overall pass percentage of 99.22% and remained on top, followed by Varanasi with an impressive score of 99.02%.
As per the CBSE Prayagraj region results, this year a total of 1,37,667 students from 1219 schools registered in class XII and were awarded marks as per CBSE norms. CBSE Regional Officer (RO) Shweta Arora said, “The overall pass percentage of the region was 98.59%, the pass percentage of girls was 99.17%, while it was 98.24% in the case of boys.”
Giving details of the results of five districts of the state falling under Prayagraj region, the RO said that 74 schools were registered in Prayagraj district and a total of 10,180 students were awarded marks. The pass percentage of the district was 99.22%. While the pass percentage of girls stood at 99.42%, boys registered a pass percentage of 99.10%.
Similarly, 146 schools were registered in Lucknow district and a total of 17,154 students were awarded marks. A total of 98.89 percent students passed in the district and here also the pass percentage of girls was more than that of boys. 99.6% of girls passed the exam as against 98.36 percent of boys.
In Varanasi, 100 schools were registered and a total of 17,633 students were awarded marks for class XII. Overall, 99.02% of them passed in the district and the pass percentage of girls was 99.35% while that of boys was 98.82%.
In Kanpur district, 92 schools were registered and a total of 10,620 students were awarded marks. The overall pass percentage was 99.22%. The pass percentage of girls was 99.67, while it was 98.92% for boys.
In Gorakhpur district, 78 schools were registered and a total of 11,379 students were awarded marks. The overall pass percentage stood at 98.32. The pass percentage of girls was 99.03% while that of boys was 97.91%.
