Late actress Pratyusha Banerjee became a household name for playing the role of Anandi in Balika Vadhu. The actor received immense love and appreciation for doing justice to the role. However, the news of his alleged suicide in 2016 shook the industry. Her parents had also filed a case of abetment to suicide against Pratyusha’s then boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.
In a recent interview Aaj TakPratyusha’s father talks about the money problem and also how he lost everything fighting for his daughter’s case. He revealed that due to financial constraints, he had to go to a room and take a loan. Shankar Banerjee said that this incident was like a terrible storm, which came and took away everything. “We didn’t have a penny left. We have lost everything while fighting in the second case.”
He said that apart from Pratyusha, he had no other support. The grieving father shared that it was Pratyusha who took them to the sky and after she left, they returned to the floor. According to him, this case took away everything from the elderly couple. Shankar reveals, “At times, there have been situations where we were forced to take loans.”
He further told that his wife is working in a childcare center and both earn a penny to meet their basic needs. Though he is short of money, Shankar said that his courage still remains intact. The actor’s father wants to fight for Pratyusha’s rights till her last breath. For him, his daughter’s victory is the last hope, and he is sure that one day they will win.
