new Delhi: Union minister Pralhad Joshi on Saturday said that every state government can think of implementing the Gujarat government’s decision to introduce Bhagavad Gita in schools.
The statement comes after Gujarat Education Minister Jitu Vaghani announced that the Bhagavad Gita will be introduced as a part of the school curriculum for class 6 to class 12 students in Gujarat from the academic year 2022-23.
After Gujarat’s decision, Karnataka’s primary and secondary education minister BC Nagesh also said that the state government will hold discussions before taking a decision in this regard.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Prahlad Joshi said, “Bhagavad Gita teaches us morals and ethics. It shows us the responsibility towards the betterment of the society. There are many moral stories which can inspire our students. Every state government You can think about it.”
Earlier on Thursday, while speaking during a discussion on the budgetary allocation for the education department in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, Jitu Vaghani had said, “In the first phase to include Indian culture and knowledge system in school education from the academic year 2022-23, Bhagvad The values and principles contained in Gita are being introduced in schools from class 6-12 onwards as per the understanding and interest of the children.
“The Bhagavad Gita should be introduced in the form of story and text in the text books of classes 6 to 8. In classes 9 to 12, the Bhagavad Gita should be introduced in the form of story and text in the textbook of the first language,” The minister had said. As quoted by ANI.

Following Gujarat’s decision, Karnataka’s primary and secondary education minister BC Nagesh had said on Friday that the state government would hold discussions with academics before taking a call.
Nagesh said that the holy book is not only a source of knowledge for Hindus but also for others.
“The Bhagavad Gita is not only for Hindus, it is for all. If experts are to be believed, it will definitely be introduced – not from this year but from next year. We have to decide whether moral science is to be introduced, Nagesh was quoted as saying by ANI.
Responding to a question whether the southern state is considering the matter, CM Basavaraj Bommai said, “It has been done in Gujarat, our minister has said that he will discuss it. Let’s see what details are the education department.” gives”, news agency PTI reported.
Talking to reporters, the Chief Minister said that the intention of his government is to impart education and moral values to the children, and the details could come out only after discussion.
