Power play like Delhi in Punjab? Kejriwal’s three big promises before the 2022 elections

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal has promised huge incentives for votes in the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections, which are expected to be held next year.

Addressing the public in Punjab on Tuesday, Arvind Kejriwal announced 24-hour electricity, 300 units free, waiving off past electricity bills.

Recalling his Delhi electricity model, the AAP leader and Delhi CM said, “When we contested elections for the first time in Delhi in 2013, people used to get absurd electricity bills. The government was working with power companies just like in Punjab. Was colluding. Today 24-hour electricity in Delhi at very low rate. We have to do this in Punjab.”

“We will do three big things here. First, we will give 300 units of free electricity to every family. Second, all pending household electricity bills will be waived and people’s connections will be restored. Third, 24 hours electricity will be provided. ,” Kejriwal said.

During his first visit to Punjab, the AAP supremo announced that the party’s chief ministerial candidate in Punjab would be from the Sikh community. “This will be someone the whole of Punjab takes pride in,” Kejriwal said. “We think this is the right of the Sikh community,” he said in his address during a one-day visit to Amritsar on June 21.
