Popular actor-screen writer Siva Subramaniam passes away

Popular actor and National Award winning screenwriter Siva Subramaniam, who played Alia Bhatt’s father in ‘2 States’, passed away on Sunday (April 10,2022). The cause of death is still unknown, filmmaker Hansal Mehta shared a statement on Subramaniam’s demise on social media. The statement also included details of the last rites that are scheduled to take place in Mumbai on Monday morning.

The statement read: “With profound and heartfelt grief, we would like to inform you of the passing of our dearest Shiva Subramaniam – one of the most revered and noble souls to ever live in human form. Incredibly Talented, he was greatly loved and respected personally. Professionally as well.”


Last year (2021), Siva Subramaniam was seen in Sanya Malhotra’s stater film ‘Meenakshi Sundareswarar’.

The 2 States actor, who was known for his standout onscreen presence, acted in several Hindi films. During his illustrious career, he was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay for Parinda and Best Story for Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi.
