FIR registered against minister’s son
PTI quoted a senior UP official as saying that an FIR has been registered against Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra’s son and some others in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.
Akhilesh Yadav was taken into preventive custody
The police tried to remove the Samajwadi workers who were staging a sit-in near the residence of Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow.
Senior police officials urged the SP leaders to end the dharna, but were refused. The police also tried to remove the SP workers from the spot.
There was also some scuffles and scuffles, following which Yadav was taken into preventive custody and made to sit inside a police vehicle. He was later taken to Gatam Palli police station and formally arrested.
SP national general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav has also been detained.

The protest against Lakhimpur Kheri incident started from Monday morning itself. Several leaders tried to reach the area, but were stopped by the police.
Heavy deployment was made around the house of Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow, barricades and trucks were deployed to obstruct the movement of vehicles.
Akhilesh left his house but could not move much. He along with party workers staged a dharna nearby. A police vehicle was torched outside Gautam Palli police station, not far from the site of the protest.
Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party – Lohia chief Shivpal Yadav managed to dodge the police outside his residence and left for Lakhimpur Kheri. However, he was taken into custody by the police from near Lucknow’s Engineering College Jankipuram along with some supporters.
UP Chief Minister Adityanath has canceled his scheduled visit to Shravasti and Bahraich in the light of Lakhimpur Kheri incident.
Priyanka Gandhi in custody
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi arrived at Lucknow airport on her way to Lakhimpur Kheri last evening. But the police stopped his vehicle at many places.
Priyanka, along with party leader Deepender Singh Hooda among others, had to resort to alternative routes on Monday morning to reach Hargaon area on the border of Saitapur, where they were stopped.

After a minor scuffle with the lady constable, Priyanka demanded to see the arrest warrant. Police personnel took him into custody and he was taken to the PAC office in the district.
