Lucknow: To turn the dream of at least one medical college into reality in every district, Government of Uttar Pradesh Will soon formulate a policy to set them up on a public-private-partnership basis.
A government spokesperson said that with sustained efforts, at least one medical college has already been made operational in 59 districts. In this sequence, the government has planned to open Medical college On PPP model in the remaining 16 districts of the state where there is no college till now.
He said, ‘Uttar Pradesh government will soon bring a new policy on this.
“The Yogi Adityanath-led government is preparing to make Uttar Pradesh a center of medical education, where not only the people of the state but people across the world can get all kinds of medical facilities,” the spokesperson said here on Thursday.
As many as nine medical colleges will become functional this month in Deoria, Etah, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Hardoi, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Pratapgarh, and Siddharthnagar districts of Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating these medical colleges soon.
Officials also said that before the Yogi government came into existence till 2016, there were only 12 medical colleges in the state and there was a great desire for health facilities. Now all the 75 districts of the state will have at least one medical college.
