Mumbai Police’s SIT team has entered the case after Prabhakar Sail, a witness in the cruise drugs case, alleged that Shahrukh Khan’s staff demanded 25 crores from the staff.

Narcotic Control Bureau’s Mumbai Zone Director Sameer Wankhede had reached Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale’s office on Tuesday evening. The conversation between the two lasted for about 25 minutes. Wankhede had earlier written a letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner following Nawab Malik’s allegations. In this he had said that no legal action should be taken to implicate me for wrong purposes. Sources said that Sameer Wankhede was called in the context of the investigation related to the allegation of fake cast certificate.

In his letter, Wankhede had sought protection from “planned” legal action against unidentified persons for implicating them in an alleged vigilance case. In the letter, he had said that it should be ensured that no legal action is taken to implicate me for wrong purposes. Let us inform that after Prabhakar Sail, who was a witness in the cruise drugs case, accused of demanding 25 crores from the staff of actor Shahrukh Khan, the entry of the SIT team of Mumbai Police has been done in this case. The SIT team has recorded the statements of several witnesses.

Prabhakar had alleged that KP Gosavi, an independent witness involved in the case, had demanded bribe from Shahrukh’s staff in the name of Sameer Wankhede. After this, Mumbai Police has started investigation by taking Sumoto in its hands. The details of the conversation between Wankhede and Nagrale have not been revealed, but both are believed to have met in this case.

Wankhede had approached the High Court to avoid arrest
Sameer Wankhede had moved the Bombay High Court for interim relief from the stay on his arrest. In the application filed in the High Court, he had sought interim protection. It was also said that if the investigation is done against him, then the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) should investigate. During the hearing on the petition of Sameer Wankhede, the counsel for the Maharashtra government assured the court that if the Mumbai Police arrests Wankhede, it will give a notice three days in advance.
