Police busted jewelery theft case worth Rs 1 crore in Hyderabad. Hyderabad News – Times of India

Hyderabad: Punjagutta police solved a jewelery theft case and recovered assets worth Rs 1 crore from two criminals. Main accused Gulab alias Ghulab Mali, is an employee of a gold merchant in Mumbai. Gulab carried out the crime with the help of his associate Praveen Kumar (31) Rajasthan Rajasthan.
Based on a complaint to Punjagutta Police on 26 August, a zero FIR was registered with Saifabad Police. Shravan Kumar Gehlot, Proprietor Ranjua Jewelers In Zaveri Bazar, Mumbai. Shravan alleged that 2.1 kg of gold jewellery, being taken by his employee Gulab Mali to Hyderabad, was stolen by unidentified persons in a private travel bus on August 24.
During preliminary investigation, the police came to know that Mukesh, a relative of Gulab and Shravan, often brings gold jewelery from Mumbai to Hyderabad so that they can be shown to various local jewellers. Similarly on the evening of 23 August, they boarded a private tour bus in Mumbai and when they reached Ameerpet on the morning of 24 August, Ghulam told Mukesh that his jewelery bag was missing, Hyderabad Commissioner Anjani Kumar said.
Mukesh immediately informed Shravan and later reached Hyderabad to file a police complaint. After the case was registered, Panjagutta police took Ghulam into custody for questioning as the employer had expressed doubts on him. Joint commissioner AR Srinivas said, “Gulaab confessed that she incurred a loss of around Rs 40 lakh in the gold business and decided to commit theft to cover the loss.” said.
