Police Attaches House For ‘Harbouring’ Militants In Khrew – Kashmir Reader

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday attached a house in Khriyu area on the outskirts of Srinagar for allegedly harboring terrorists.

“On 19/20 August 2021, the police in Awantipora received an information through reliable sources about the presence of a group of (terrorists) in the house of Ghulam Ahmad Najar S/o Ghulam Mohammad Najar at Danak Mohalla Khurey who are plotting to execute (the terrorist). ) work in the area,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.

Accordingly, the police said, a joint cordon and search operation was launched with Army’s 50 RR and CRPF’s 185 Battalion. “When the cordon was being laid, the hiding (militants) fired indiscriminately at the operational party with the intention of killing the police and security forces,” he said. He said the encounter was retaliated effectively.

During the encounter, the terrorists took advantage of the darkness and entered the house of Ghulam Nabi Nazar, son of Ghulam Mohammad, located in the vicinity, he said. Thereafter, he said, the terrorists were neutralized and the gunfight started again and two hiding terrorists were killed. They were later identified as Musaib Mushtaq Bhat, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat and Muzamil Ahmad Rather, son of Nazir Ahmad Rather of Chakura Pulwama.

He said that consequent to this matter FIR No. 57/2021 u/s 307-IPC 7/27A u/s 16,18,20 & 38 UA(P) Act was registered at Police Station Khrew and investigation was done, he Told.

“During investigation, the involvement of Danik Mohalla Khurey (son of the owner of the house) r/o G Ahmad Nazar, son of Nizam-ud-Din Nazar came to the fore in willfully harboring and providing logistic support to neutral (terrorists) and Accordingly arrested in the instant case on 21st August 2021, for the commission of offenses punishable u/s 19 and 39 UA(P) Act which were made applicable in the instant case.

Accordingly the process for attachment of the house under Section 25 UA(p) of the Act “willfully harboring the accused” was initiated and submitted to the DGP J&K for prior approval and granted by the competent authority. ”

The property (residential house belonging to Ghulam Ahmad Najar) was attached in pursuance of the order and powers conferred on the Investigating Officer under 25 UA(P) Act of 1967.

He said, “General public is once again requested not to provide shelter or shelter to (terrorists/terrorist associates) in their homes or extend logistics, failing to do so strict action will be taken against anyone.” Legal action will be taken.”
