PM’s meeting with DM: PM said – the budget kept increasing but even after 75 years of independence, many districts remained behind

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the District Magistrates (DMs) of many districts through video conferencing today i.e. on 22 January. After the meeting, PM Modi also addressed all the DMs. During this, PM Modi apprised about the problems being faced in the district. The PM said that on one hand the budget kept increasing, plans kept on being made, economic development also continued in the figures, but even after 75 years of independence, many districts in the country remained behind. Over time these districts were tagged with backward districts.

Aspirational districts are helping to take the country forward: PM Modi
PM Modi said that today the aspirational districts are removing the barriers of the progress of the country. With the efforts of all of you, today aspirational districts are becoming accelerators instead of stalemates. PM Modi said that even the Chief Ministers of the state believe that the aspirational districts in their states have done amazing work. PM Modi said that for development in aspirational districts, direct communication between the administration and the people and a passionate connection is also very important. In a way, top to bottom and bottom to top flow of governance is very important. The important aspect of this campaign is technology and innovation.

The work of aspirational districts is a subject of study in big universities.
PM Modi said that the work done in the aspirational districts is a matter of study for big universities. In the last four years, there has been an increase of 4 to 5 times in Jan Dhan accounts in almost every aspirational district of the country. Almost every family has got a toilet, electricity has reached every village.

List of 142 backward districts prepared
PM Modi said that different ministries of the government, different departments have prepared a list of 142 such districts. On one or two parameters on which these different 142 districts are behind, now even there we have to work with the same collective approach as we do in aspirational districts.

Jan Dhan accounts increased by 4 to 5 times in aspirational district
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the last four years, there has been an increase of 4 to 5 times in Jan Dhan accounts in almost every aspirational district of the country. Almost every family has got a toilet, electricity has reached every village and electricity has not only reached the house of the poor, but energy has been infused in people’s lives.

People who live in aspirational districts have a yearning to move forward
PM Modi said that people who live in aspirational districts have a yearning to move forward. These people have spent most of their life in deprivation, in difficulties. He worked hard for every little thing. That’s why those people are ready to take risks, to show courage. The country’s first approach in the aspirational districts was that special work was done to identify the basic problems of these districts. For this, people were directly asked about their problems, connected to them.

No village is backward in Digital India
PM Modi said that the country is witnessing a silent revolution in the form of Digital India. No district of ours should be left behind in this. It is very important that digital infrastructure should reach our every village, become a means of door step delivery of services and facilities.
