Bhubaneswar: Amidst the tussle between the state government and the Center over allotment of rural housing to Odisha under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, the Union Minister on Wednesday said that the ministry has received several representations, including one from the state, regarding irregularities in the implementation of PMAY-G in Odisha. Singh was replying to a question by BJD MP N Bhaskar Rao.
He further said that his response was based on the findings of a central team, which had visited the state in the second week of February last year to probe the matter. During his visit, he had found shortage of PMAY-G logo, poor quality of construction, incomplete houses shown in full in PMAY-G portal and approval of houses to ineligible beneficiaries.
Though the state government had submitted an action taken report (ATR) on the findings of the central probe team to the Union Ministry of Rural Development on July 20 last year, the Union minister said the ATR was found unsatisfactory and was not accepted. Ministry.
The ministry then decided to depute another central team to find out whether the state had taken corrective measures. The team had toured the state from March 2 to March 4 this year.
“During the second visit, it was observed that though the state had taken some corrective measures with respect to the houses inspected in the first visit, the condition of other houses in the same panchayat remained unchanged,” Singh said.
The Union Minister said that despite the clear advice to have only PMAY-G logo, the logo of Biju Pakke remains in homes. Ghar, He said that in most cases, the Biju logo is more prominent than the PMAY-G, while the quality of construction remains poor.
