PM Narendra Modi To Launch Projects Worth Over Rs 11k Cr In Telangana

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 11,300 crore in Telangana, besides flagging off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express here on Saturday. According to official sources, during his visit to the city, at 11:45 am, the Prime Minister will reach Secunderabad Railway Station and flag off the train and attend a public function at Parade Ground at 12:15 pm. He will lay the foundation stone of AIIMS Bibinagar and five national highway projects here. He will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station and dedicate other railway related development projects to the nation.

The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, which connects Hyderabad to the abode of Lord Venkateswara, Tirupati, is the second Vande Bharat train to be launched from Telangana within a short span of three months.

The train will reduce the travel time between the two cities by about three and a half hours and will be especially beneficial for the pilgrims.

The Rs 720 crore redevelopment of Secunderabad railway station is being planned in such a way that it will undergo a massive makeover with world-class amenities and an aesthetically designed iconic station building.

The redeveloped station will have a double-level spacious roof plaza with all passenger amenities at one place, as well as multi-modal connectivity to provide seamless transfer of passengers from rail to other modes.

During the visit, Modi will flag off 13 new Multi-Modal Transport Service (MMTS) services in the suburban section of the Hyderabad-Secunderabad twin city region, which will provide fast, convenient and comfortable travel options to commuters, a press release from the Railways said on Thursday. He will also dedicate to the nation the doubling and electrification of the Secunderabad-Mahbubnagar project. Spread over a distance of over 85 km, the project has been completed at a cost of approximately Rs. 1,410 crores. This project will provide seamless connectivity and help in increasing the average speed of trains.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of AIIMS Bibinagar, Hyderabad in a public function at Parade Ground. An official release had earlier said that this is a testimony to the PM’s vision of strengthening the health infrastructure across the country.

AIIMS Bibinagar is being developed at a cost of over Rs 1,350 crore. The establishment of AIIMS Bibinagar is an important milestone towards providing comprehensive, quality and holistic tertiary care health services to the people of Telangana at their doorsteps.

Modi will also lay the foundation stone for national highway projects worth over Rs 7,850 crore. These road projects will strengthen the road connectivity of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and help in the socio-economic development of the region.
