Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has addressed more than 150 rallies so far this poll season and multiple road shows, will be leading the phase seven party brigade.
Even though the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is pretty confident of coming back with big numbers in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024, the saffron party is leaving no stone unturned to remain on top of the minds of the voters in the last phase of polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has addressed more than 150 rallies so far this poll season and multiple road shows, will be leading the phase seven party brigade.
On May 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding three rallies – one of which will be in Jharkhand’s Godda for BJP candidate Nishikant Dubey, followed by another two rallies in neighbouring West Bengal, which is a high stakes battle for the party. In the evening, the Prime Minister will hold a roadshow in the capital city of Kolkata for the North Kolkata constituency.
The next day, on May 29, PM Modi will address a rally in Diamond Harbour, which is a bastion Of the ruling Trinamool Congress. TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, who is the sitting member of Parliament, is contesting from that seat. After this, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold three rallies in Odisha’s Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Kendrapada. The battle in Odisha is also a highly pitched one as the BJP is contesting directly against the ruling Biju Janaa Dal (BJD) in the state Assembly.
Apart from the Prime Minister, Home Minister Amit Shah has also been holding fort for the big canvassing by the saffron party. Despite being a candidate from the Lok Sabha from Gujarat, Amit Shah has been canvassing through the entire country through all the phases. On May 28, the Union Home Minister will be campaign in the eastern state of Odisha. He will hold three rallies in Bhadrak, Jazpur and Jagatsinghpur.
The next day, on May 29, Amit Shah will be in Uttar Pradesh, holding rallies in Ballia, Deoria and Maharganj. On the last day of the campaigning for the seventh phase of election, Shah will hold a rally in Robertsganj. After this, the Union Home Minister is expected to travel to Madurai, followed by Tirupati for darshan marking the end of the campaign of the BJP.
On Monday, BJP national president JP Nadda will be in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi. On May 28, he will be seen campaigning in his own home state Himachal Pradesh, covering locations like Shimla, Mandi, and Hamirpur among others. On May 29, Nadda will hold rallies in Dumka and Godda, followed by a rally in West Bengal. On the final day of the canvassing, Nadda will be in the northern state of Punjab and is expected to hold ralles in Faridkot, Amritsar and Anantapur Sahib.
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is confident of leading his party to win for its third term with the slogan of “Abki Baar 400 Par”, several top leaders of the party, including MPs, have been assigned various duties of not only campaigning, but also for the bank team, which is managing the campaign and other important issues surrounding the election.
The two and a half months of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, that began with the first phase on April 19, will come to an end with the final phase of voting slated to take place on June 1.
A total of 55 Lok Sabha seats will be voting in the final phase of election spread across eight states. This includes states like West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, which have polled in all seven phases. It is in this phase that the constituency of Kashi, from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been elected to the Lok Sabha both in 2014 and 2019, will go to polls.
