Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a 3-day visit to Gujarat from April 18 to 20, during which he is scheduled to participate in several programs. This will be the Prime Minister’s second visit to the state after the BJP’s victory in assembly elections in four states, including Uttar Pradesh, that concluded in March this year. During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate, lay foundation stones for various development projects.   • On April 18, at around 6 pm, the Prime Minister will visit the command and control center of schools in Gandhinagar. The center collects more than 500 crore data sets annually and analyzes them meaningfully using big data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance overall learning outcomes for students.
  • The center helps in tracking the daily online attendance of teachers and students, conducts centralized summative and periodic assessment of the learning outcome of the students.   • The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation a new dairy complex and potato processing plant at Deodar in Banaskantha district, which has been built at a cost of over Rs. 600 crores, around 9:40 am.
  • The new dairy complex is a greenfield project. It will enable the processing of around 3 million liters of milk, produce around 80 tonnes of butter, one lakh liters of ice cream, 20 tonnes of condensed milk (Khoya) and 6 tonnes of chocolate per day.
  • The potato processing plant will produce a variety of processed potato products such as french fries, potato chips, aloo tikkis, patties, etc., many of which will be exported to other countries. These plants will empower the local farmers and boost the rural economy in the region.
  • On April 19, at around 3.30 pm, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of the WHO Global Center for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar in the presence of the Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth and Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, Director General.   • The three day summit will have 5 plenary sessions, 8 round table conferences, 6 workshops and 2 symposia with the presence of around 90 eminent speakers and 100 exhibitors.
  • The summit will help to uncover investment potential, and promote innovation, research and development, start-up ecosystem and wellness industry. It will help in bringing together industry leaders, academicians and scholars and will act as a platform for future collaborations.
  • The Prime Minister will also dedicate the Banas Community Radio Station to the nation. This community radio station has been established to provide key scientific information related to agriculture and animal husbandry to the farmers. It is expected that the radio station will connect with more than 5 lakh farmers from around 1700 villages.
  • He will dedicate to the nation the expanded facilities for production of cheese products and whey powder at Banas Dairy Plant in Palanpur. Also, he will dedicate to the nation the organic fertilizer and biogas plant set up at Dama, Gujarat.
  • PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for four 100-tonne capacity Gobar Gas Plants to be set up at Khimna, Ratanpura-Bhildi, Radhanpur and Thawar.

  • The Prime Minister will also inaugurate five projects of Dahod Smart City worth about Rs 335 crore. These projects include Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) building, storm water drainage system, sewerage works, solid waste management system and rain water harvesting system. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Rs. An assistance of Rs 120 crore will be given to 10,000 tribals of Panchmahal and Dahod districts.
  • Modi will also inaugurate 66 KV Ghodia Substation, Panchayat House, Anganwadi and others.
  • He will also lay the foundation stone for manufacturing of 9000 HP electric locomotive at the production unit at Dahod. The cost of the project is about Rs. 20,000 crores. Dahod Workshop, established in 1926 for periodic overhaul of steam locomotives, will be upgraded into an electric locomotive manufacturing unit with infrastructural improvements.
  • It will provide direct and indirect employment to more than 10,000 people. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of various projects of the state government worth about Rs 550 crore. This includes projects related to water supply worth about Rs 1 crore. 300 crores, Dahod Smart City Projects worth approx Rs. 175 crore, work related to Dudhimati river project, Gateco substation at Ghodia, among others.
