PM Modi will interact with more than 150 startups tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with more than 150 startups from various sectors including agriculture and health through video conferencing on Saturday. The PMO said on Friday that startups from various sectors such as enterprise systems, space, Industry 4.0, security, fintech, environment, besides agriculture and health would be part of this interaction.

More than 150 startups have been divided into six working groups, which include Growing from Roots, DNA from Local to Global, Technology of the Future, Championing in Manufacturing and Sustainable Development, a release said.

Each group will make a presentation to Modi on the topic allotted in the conversation. The aim of the interaction is to understand how startups can contribute to the national needs by driving innovation in the country, the release said.


As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a week long event, “Celebrating Innovation Ecosystem” is being organized by DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry during 10-16 January. The event marks the sixth anniversary of the launch of the ‘Startup India’ initiative.

“The Prime Minister is a firm believer in the potential of startups to contribute significantly to the development of the country. This was reflected in the launch of the flagship initiative of Startup India in 2016. The government has worked on providing an enabling environment to promote them. The growth and development of startups,” it said. This has made a tremendous impact on the startup ecosystem in the country, and has led to the astonishing growth of unicorns in the country.
