PM Modi told startups the backbone of new India, declared January 16 as National Startup Day

PM Modi interacts with startupsPrime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with over 150 startups in various sectors. During the conversation through video conferencing, the Prime Minister said that startups are going to be the backbone of New India. He said that from now onwards, January 16 will be celebrated as National Startup Day.

“Our startups are changing the rules of the game. I believe startups are going to be the backbone of India,” the Prime Minister said during his speech.

“I congratulate all the start-ups, all the youth, who are hoisting the flag of India in the world of start-ups. In order to take this culture of start-ups to the remotest parts of the country, it has been decided to celebrate January 16 as National Start-up Day.”

Modi said that the government is making major changes in the policies regarding startups. “The year 2022 has brought new horizons for the Indian startup ecosystem. When India completes 100 years of independence, startups will play a big role,” Prasar Bharati quoted the PM as saying.
