After being sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term, Narendra Modi is set to visit his poll constituency Varanasi for the first time since the Lok Sabha Election results. During this visit, he will distribute the 17th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme.

In addition to this, PM Modi will also be presenting certificates to over 30,000 SHGs who have been trained as Krishi Sakhis and will function as part extension workers.

This initiative is expected to benefit over 9.26 crore farmers, providing them with more than Rs 20,000 crore.

The event will be attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, governor Anandiben Patel, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and several state ministers.

PM Modi in Varanasi Today: Here’s The Full Schedule

  • According to media reports, the Prime Minister will land at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur around 4 pm.
  • He will then attend the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan around 5 pm and release an instalment of Samman Nidhi, which will benefit 2,76,665 farmers in Kashi.
  • The prime minister will also meet 21 farmers and review their produce.
  • PM Modi will witness the Ganga Aarti at Varanasi’s Dashashwamedh Ghat at around 7 pm.
  • He will visit the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple at around 8 pm

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Varanasi will last for over 4 hours. “The administration received protocol and the Prime Minister will stay inside the temple for about 25 minutes,” Kashi Vishwanath temple CEO Vishwa Bhushan Mishra told news agency ANI.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare reported that over 2.5 crore farmers will participate in the event, including those at 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), 5 lakh Common Service Centres nationwide, and more than 1 lakh Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies.

Additionally, farmers will be educated on good farming practices, new agricultural technologies, and climate-resilient farming at the event.

They will also be informed on how to check their PM-KISAN beneficiary status and payment status, as well as how to use the Kisan-eMitra Chatbot. Union ministers will also distribute certificates to trained Krishi Sakhis in the area.
