The 216-feet tall statue of 11th century social reformer and saint Ramanujacharya will be dedicated to the world on February 5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the world’s second largest statue in a meeting. According to a statement issued by Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji’s ashram, the campus is located on a 45-acre campus on the outskirts of the city.

The Rs 1,000 crore project was funded by donations from devotees globally. The inner sanctum sanctorum of Sri Ramanujacharya is made of 120 kg of gold, which is done to commemorate the 120 years spent by the saint on earth.

President Ram Nath Kovind will unveil the golden statue of Ramanuja, which weighs 120 kg, in the inner chamber on February 13.

In his remarks, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy said: “We warmly welcome everyone, including the chief guest, dignitaries, devotees and people from all walks of life, to the grand inauguration of the Statue of Equality. Bhagavad Ramanujacharya of Equality True icons have remained. 1,000 years and this project will ensure that their teachings are practiced for at least 1,000 years.”

To commemorate the saint’s 1,000th birth anniversary, several events including spiritual activities such as 1035 yagyas (fire rituals), and collective mantra chanting are to be organized as part of the Sri Ramanuja millennium ‘Samaroham’.

The events will begin on February 2, and Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao will co-host the event along with Chinna Jeyar Swamy. Several other Chief Ministers, politicians, celebrities and actors are also expected to attend the ceremony.

The outdoor 216 ft Statue of Equality will be the second tallest statue in the world with a sitting posture. It is made of ‘Panchloha’, a combination of five metals comprising gold, silver, copper, brass and zinc.

The complex has entertainments similar to 108 Divya Desams, 108 ornately carved Vishnu temples mentioned in the works of Alvars, mystic Tamil sages. The sitting Buddha statue in Thailand is said to be the tallest statue in the world.

Born in 1017 in Sri Perumbudur, Tamil Nadu, Sri Ramanujacharya freed millions of people from social, cultural, gender, educational and economic discrimination with the fundamental belief that every human being is equal regardless of nationality, gender, caste, caste or creed. Is. He opened the doors of temples to all people, including the victims of extreme discrimination. For many sections of society, he is a timeless symbol of equality for social reformers around the world.

The foundation stone for the project was laid in 2014. The 54 feet high building, named ‘Bhadra Vedi’, houses a Vedic digital library and research centre, ancient Indian texts, a theatre, an educational gallery and a fortified floor.
